The strange and dangerous voyage of Captaine Thomas James...

Thomas James. The strange and dangerous voyage of Captaine Thomas James in his intended discovery of the Northwest Passage into the South Sea. London, 1633.
James was outfitted by Bristol merchants in rivalry with Fox. He explored
the southern shores of Hudson Bay in 1631, but was unable to return before
winter set in. He wintered in James Bay, where his crew suffered from
the cold, and from scurvy. Although his discoveries were less important
than Fox’s, Thomas James’ book describing the hardships suffered
was a best seller.
